Kate’s Ice Cream (Portland-based, plant-based and gluten-free ice cream brand) and Portland-based artist Mike Bennett have teamed up to launch Ottie’s Oreo, a limited-edition Salty Caramel Oreo flavor inspired by Bennett’s sea otter character Ottie. Kate’s took our suggestion of incorporating sea salt from the Oregon coast from our friends at Jacobsen Salt Co. for this collab! The flavor will be available throughout October at all Kate’s Ice Cream locations.
To celebrate the release, Bennett will unveil a custom art installation at Kate’s NW 23rd shop, alongside exclusive merchandise featuring Ottie. All merch proceeds will benefit Elakha Alliance, a nonprofit working to restore sea otters to the Oregon coast.
