SUMMARY:Sea Otter Awareness Week (SOAW)
DESCRIPTION:Annually\, throughout the last full week of September\, we celebrate sea otters during Sea Otter Awareness Week (Sept 20-26). We encourage zoological and educational institutions\, governmental agencies and communities to plan and undertake events that highlight sea otters. Come stop by the Elakha Alliance table and learn more about sea otter reintroduction efforts in Oregon. \nOregon Sea Otter Viewing Stations:\n– Sunday September 20th\, 10am-2pm: Oregon Zoo\, Portland\n– Saturday September 26th\, 10am-4pm: Oregon Coast Aquarium\, Newport \nStop by our table right next to the sea otter exhibit from 10am-2pm and meet with one of our Elakha representatives to learn the history of sea otters in Oregon\, and why it’s critical for them to return to their native waters. You can also learn how the Oregon Zoo is supporting our efforts as a Conservation Partner. \n
