Sea Otters & Science at the Portland Aquarium

July 11 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Elakha Alliance is excited to announce that we’ll be tabling at the Portland Aquarium on the first Friday of each month (except for July since the 1st Friday is a holiday)! Come meet our team and learn more about our mission to restore sea otters to the Oregon coast—and why these charismatic creatures are vital to the health of our marine ecosystems. The Portland Aquarium is a fully immersive educational walkthrough that takes you on a journey through five colorful biomes, brought to life with over 100 cartoon species created by beloved Portland artist Mike Bennett. There are no live animals here—just vibrant, larger-than-life cartoon illustrations, interactive displays, and playful storytelling that spark curiosity and joy for guests of all ages. It’s part art exhibit, part educational adventure, and totally unforgettable.

Visitors will have the chance to:
🔹 Talk with marine conservation experts
🔹 Explore hands-on educational materials
🔹 Discover how sea otters help kelp forests and estuaries thrive
🔹 Learn how YOU can get involved in bringing them back

📍 Where: Portland Aquarium, 603 SW Broadway, Portland
📅 When: First Friday of each month
🕒 Time: 11am-5pm
