SUMMARY:Eugene Environmental Film Festival: Ocean Conservation Day
DESCRIPTION:The Eugene Environmental Film Festival believes in creating space and a platform to address and bring light to critical issues facing our planet. We support the work being done at local and global levels and share a deep connection and responsibility to protect the environment and work in solidarity with others in the struggle for environmental justice. \nWe seek to raise awareness of all that is the environment globally and locally. We aim to provide a holistic perspective concerning the ways that we enjoy the environment; to understand the ways the environment feeds and nourishes us; to address the exploitation and harm to the environment; and to explore ways that we resist and protect the environment. Our vision is to raise awareness and inspire positive change. \n\n\nOCEAN CONSERVATION DAY\nGET YOUR TICKETS \nFrom the fight to restore California’s lost kelp forests to the historic protest boat Golden Rule sailing for a world free of nuclear devastation\, these films spotlight communities confronting ecological destruction and working toward healing and resilience. \nFilm Screenings: 6:00-7:30pm \n\nSequoias of the Sea (54:00)\nGolden Rule – The Journey for Peace (33:46)\nScreening will be followed by discussion.\n\nAction by Elakha Alliance: 8:00pm-9:00pm \nJoin us with Elakha Alliance\, a nonprofit organization based in Oregon\, founded by tribal leaders\, conservationists\, and nonprofit advocates united by a powerful vision. They imagine an Oregon coast where future generations thrive alongside a restored sea otter population and a resilient marine ecosystem. \nFor more information about EEFF\, please visit the EEFF website. \n
